I have just added 4 tracks into high rotation from the brand new Heart album, which is called Beautiful Broken.

The Wilson sisters have dug back into their back catalogue and re-recorded several tracks that they were not originally satisfied with due to production or performance. The results are engaging and energizing. Listen for the title track, which features a duet with James Hetfield (of Metallica). You can see (and hear) the video by clicking here.  A new track called Heaven is an interesting mix of different musical styles. They turn the track  Down on Me (originally from the album Bebe Le Strange) into a heavy, slow-burning waltz with a torch-song vibe. The track I Jump is a Led Zeppelin inspired burn that features a string arrangement from Paul Buckmaster, who is famous for orchestrating early Elton John albums.

The album is receiving raves from fans and critics alike – and I recommend you keep it on your player of choice throughout the summer!

I have added 4 new tracks into high rotation on the playlist. This includes a brand new track called Knowledge from a new album from Jon Anderson (vocalist of Yes) and Raine Stolt (of The Flower Kings and Transatlantic). The album is called Invention Of Knowledge. If you liked early Yes – you will love this album. Here is a short teaser currently on YouTube.

I have also added a track from the new Eric Clapton album Crossroads Revisited, which is a 3 disc compilation featuring over 4 hours of live performances garnered over the years from Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival. Listen for a rockin’ live version of Crossroads.

I have also added 2 new tracks from the album recently released by Shawn Colvin and Steve Earle. The album is called (logically enough) Colvin & Earle. Listen for the tracks You’re Right (I’m Wrong) and Tobacco Road.

I have just added into high rotation new tracks from Neil Young‘s new album Earth, Paul Simon‘s new release Stranger To Stranger, Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers new album Rehab Reunion and the single from Jeff Beck‘s upcoming release which will be called Loud Hailer. The Jeff Beck track is called Live In the Dark. You can watch the video for it by clicking here.

In other news – I have redone the web site and it now features a player on the right side of the screen. This player should work in mobile devices as well as a computer – so you can listen to Choice Classic Rock anywhere you go! Let me know your thoughts about the new look in the comments section.

I have just added into high rotation in the playlist 4 brand new tracks from (wait for it) – The Monkees. That’s right – dubbed by many as the Prefab Four back in the sixties, The Monkees have released their new album Good Times to critical acclaim. Teamed with producer Adam Schlesinger – the multi instrumentalist from Fountains of Wayne – and featuring new tracks composed by such musical luminaries as Noel Gallagher (of Oasis), Paul Weller and Andy Partridge (of XTC) – as well as older songs composed by Harry Nilsson, Tommy Boyce & Bobby Hart and Neil Diamond – the album is a perfect blend of pop rock. Today, Eric Clapton released his latest project called I Still Do. In media interviews this week, he intimated that this may actually be his last project before retirement. I hope not! I have added 4 more tracks into high rotation from this release – and they all are tasty nuggets of classic rock and blues. I also heard a nice ballad the other day from Don Henley‘s recently released album – Cass County – so have added the track Words Can Break Your Heart into high rotation. Enjoy!

I have just added 13 newly released tracks into high rotation. These tracks feature some of classic rock’s finest artists …

Santana just released their long-awaited new album Santana IV – which features the original Woodstock era band reunited. This album resurrects the late 60s/early 70s sound of the band and I highly recommend it. I have added an additional 5 tracks from this album into high rotation – to join the 2 that I added a couple of weeks ago!

I have also added 2 tracks from Eric Clapton‘s forthcoming album, which is called I Still Do. Listen for the tracks Can’t Let You Do It and Stones In My Passway. Give the tracks a listen and I think you’ll agree that Slowhand is still getting it done.

Also listen for 2 new tracks from the latest album from Graham Nash (of Crosby, Stills & Nash) which is called This Path Tonight; a new track from Peter Frampton‘s latest all-acoustic release called (appropriately) Acoustic Classics; 2 new tracks from the latest album from Peter Wolf (of the J.
