A Bunch Of Newly Released Classic Rock Tracks

John Mellencamp - Sad Clowns & Hillbillies
John Mellencamp – Sad Clowns & Hillbillies

After a bit of an after-Christmas lull in new classic rock music releases – this week has given us a bunch of newly released classic rock tracks that I have added into high rotation in the playlist.

First off – I have added the first track released from the upcoming John Mellencamp album. The track is called Easy Target and the album is called Sad Clowns and Hillbillies, which is scheduled to be released on April 28th.

Next, listen for the track Comfort Me from the impending Night Ranger album which is called Don’t Let Up. (Remember their smash hit Sister Christian from 1984?) This album drops on March 24th.

Also listen for the latest track released from the impending new album from Deep Purple. The track is called All I Got Is You which will be on their album titled InFinite, which is due for release on April 7th.

Two other tracks added into high rotation are a new single from Peter Frampton called I Saved A Bird Tonight and a new track from Colin Hay (who was the lead singer for Men At Work) called Come Tumblin’ Down. You can find this track on his recently released album called Fierce Mercy. Read a review here.

Disconnected! Move To A New Server Just Happened

Unfortunately, my service provider had to move me to a new server – which resulted in the loss of the Choice Classic Rock stream for a bit. As you can now see – the stream is back up on the web site, but it will take a little time for the new address to propagate throughout the Internet to all the secondary sites like TuneIn radio and iTunes. It should be working everywhere within the next few days. Thanks for your patience as we make this move (which will ultimately result in a better listener experience with less stream drop outs).

New Elvin Bishop Loaded Up

Elvin Bishop - Big Fun Trio
Elvin Bishop – Big Fun Trio

I just dropped into high rotation a new track from the new album from Elvin Bishop (remember “Fooled Around And Fell In Love”?). Bishop is now a roots and blues legend, and he joins with Willy Jordan and Bob Welsh to create a rollicking album of bluesy fun! The album is called Big Fun Trio – and it is a lot of fun! Listen for the track Keep On Rollin’. Click here to read the review.

New Deep Purple Track

Deep Purple - Time For Bedlam (EP)
Deep Purple – Time For Bedlam (EP)

Deep Purple recently released a new EP. It contains the lead single, Time for Bedlam, from their upcoming new album InFinite. I have added the track into high rotation, along with another track from the EP called Paradise Bar – which will not be on the forthcoming new album – but is an excellent track. InFinite drops on April 7th and I will no doubt be adding more, new Deep Purple into the Choice Classic Rock stream! Click here to read the review.

I have also added a new track into high rotation from the recently released album All Because of You by Simon Kirke. Simon Kirke was the drummer for Free and Bad Company and also had a hand in some of the song writing for those bands. Although the album is a bit more of a mellow feel than Free and Bad Company – I really like the title track and have added it into high rotation. John Mayall – Talk About That

John Mayall, known as “the father of the English blues” is still getting it done. He released an excellent new album this past week called Talk About That, with two of the tracks featuring a guest appearance by Joe Walsh (of The Eagles) on guitar.

I have added 4 tracks from the album into high rotation – including both the tracks featuring Joe Walsh. Listen for It’s Hard Going Up, The Devil Must Be Laughing, Cards On The Table and Blue Midnight.

Found! A New Cactus Release

Cactus - Black Dawn
Cactus – Black Dawn

It’s been very quiet on the new classic rock release front – so I have been programming the music playlist and waiting for some new classic rock releases to drop.

Lo and behold – I was browsing around last week and found a classic rock release that came out this past September from the early 70s band Cactus. Cactus recorded and released 4 albums in the short 2 years they were together – and with the hard rock sound they had were sometimes called the “American Led Zeppelin”.

Their latest album is called Black Dawn and features two of the founding members (Carmine Appice and Jim McCarty). Listen for the track Dynamite!

Happy Classic Rockin’ New Year

Just wanted to drop a note and wish everyone a very Happy Classic Rockin’ New Year! As I’m sure you have noticed – the Choice Classic Rock stream has been suffering some server issues for the past couple of weeks. These originated with my server service provider – but have been mostly fixed by now. We should be streaming from all the links you can find on the internet. If not – please let me know so I can have it fixed up!

The one outstanding issue we are still experiencing is the Artist and Song Title information are not being streamed out. We are in discussions to fix this and it will hopefully be rectified soon!

This is a quiet time of year for new releases – so there will probably be a slowdown in the new music being rotated through the playlist. So if anyone has any ideas about anything they’d like to hear for the next month or so – please leave a comment and let me know!

Again – Happy Classic Rockin’ New Year – and thanks for listening …
