Choice Classic Rock

Choice Classic Rock Radio

Choice Classic Rock Internet Radio StationChoice Classic Rock radio is a commercial-free, classic rock internet radio station – streaming music from the Classic Rock decades – for free. Expect to hear a lot of music you know – as well as music you may never have heard. You will hear hits, near hits, and lots of deep, album-only tracks originally released in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. You will also be the first to hear new songs from new albums released by Classic Rock artists.

In this era where there is a such huge selection of entertainment to choose from, I invite you to listen to Choice Classic Rock internet radio. I have been programming this commercial-free internet radio station for several years now, and the playlist has grown to over 15,500 songs – with more being added every few weeks. This ensures that you will hear a very diverse mixture of classic rock music.

You will hear the biggest hits and deepest tracks from well-known artists like The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, Journey, Boston, The Rolling Stones and The Who. You will also hear many hidden gems from lesser-known artists like Renaissance, Gentle Giant (both progressive-rock bands),  Argent, Illusion, John Miles and a host of others.

We also pay tribute to the forefathers who laid the foundation for classic rock. Every once in awhile you will hear songs from the likes of Elvis Presley, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters and even a few soul artists.

Go to our Artists page for a complete listing of all the artists we play.

And thanks to the thousands of listeners who tune in to the station on a regular basis, it has become very successful. To be fair – if you are looking for the same 400 classic rock “hits” played over and over again, the station will not be for you. We play all those hits – but rather than hearing them every day, you will hear them spread out. That gives us lots of time to play the forgotten gems, the almost-hits, and lots of deep album tracks that are great songs, but rarely heard, on traditional radio stations.

My goal is to bring back good memories to those of you who lived through these years, and to expose this fantastic music to those of you who weren’t there when “classic rock radio” was just great radio.  If you are looking for something different from the music played on traditional classic rock radio today, I invite you to sit back, relax and listen to great music from the Classic Rock era!

100% Commercial-Free – 100% of the Time!

Choice Classic Rock – Classic Rock radio like you’ve never heard it before!

  1. Been hoping since this past January that you would introduce your listeners to the music of the Teskey Brothers, but maybe you haven’t had a chance to give them a listen. You won’t be disappointed. If you deem them unworthy of your playlist, I urge your listeners to give this bluesy band a listen on YouTube.
By the way, while cruising your artists list I noticed a lot of single digit entries for many artists which are nearly impossible to catch a listen to with your vast playlist. It would be great to hear these tunes and may I humbly suggest you do a once a week hour (or other lenth) program featuring the artists with single digit (1 to 9 songs) entries.

    1. Thanks for the great suggestions and listening to Choice Classic Rock. I will definitely give the Teskey Brothers a listen and see if I can get a few of their songs onto the playlist.
And I love your idea of playing the single digit songs for an hour a week! Maybe call it Choice Lost Tracks or something like that! Cheers – and thanks again for the input and being a listener!

  2. Recently found this station on Radio Garden and I love it so far. After 40+ years working in shops and offices, I am now working from home. I can listen all day / week long and not hear the same same songs repeated over and over like the local commercial radio stations. Fantastic!

    1. Thank you for your input!

Choice Classic Rock is not everyone’s cup of tea, and I totally respect that. The idea behind the station is to play a very wide variety of music – similar to what I heard on FM radio when I was growing up in the late sixties and early seventies. Music on FM radio at that time was a blend of folk, rock, soul, blues and much more! That is what the station is trying to emulate – not the “classic rock” of today that plays the same 400 songs over and over.

  3. Love the station.
Can you tell me why I’m seeing the date Nov 2, 2022, under the CCR Blog link?
Does that indicate the blog was recorded on that date?
I’m in Denver, CO, USA. Frequently experience the audio cut out for ten seconds sometimes as long as a minute or more. I refresh but don’t always land back on the song that was playing, and sometimes the different song that is then playing is also still playing the song that cut out at a lower volume. Weird? Ghost song in the machine?
By the way, please consider The Teskey Brothers and more of The Kinks (less Billy Joel and Ringo singing–haHaha).
    Happy trails.

    1. Thanks for listening and taking the time to make a comment. The Blog was last updated November 26, 2022 … so it is definitely getting a little old. There should be something new on there in the next couple of weeks or so.

Not sure why your audio would cut out … I listen all the time and the signal in my location is always strong and rarely drops. I have had buffering problems when moving around with my phone which can result in the circumstances you describe – but that has more to do with the local data signal. The internet is a wild, wacky (and wonderful) place – so it could be anything in the servers the signal passes through, a network issue locally or who knows what else!

I will definitely check out The Teskey Brothers. I am not familiar with them, but that is one of the benefits of doing this – listeners point me at more great music to listen to!

Thanks again for being a listener!

  4. I’ve been listening to CCR for many years now. My every day morning ritual starts with turning on this awesome station. The variety of the songs is impressive. Also love the short amusing bumpers between the songs or whatever they are called 🙂

If I may have one suggestion though, please turn off the crossfade. Sometimes you just want to listen the very end and when another song starts before the finish of the previous one it can be a little annoying…

Otherwise please keep up the good work and know that it brings joy to many people around the world.

Kind regards from the Czech Republic

P.S. Is there any way to donate?

    1. Hi David … thank you so much for being a listener and taking the time to comment. I try to limit the crossfade as much as possible – but it still sneaks into the mix sometimes. Thank you for your offer to donate as well, but at this time we are not soliciting or accepting donations. The station is a labour of love to bring my music collection to the world – and given you are from the Czech Republic is appears to be working!

      Thanks again!

  5. I love that this station plays such varied rock music. I’m hearing so many songs and bands that I’ve never even heard before!! Keep up the excellent work!!! 💕💕💕

  6. I found this station by accident today.
I think it’s appsolutly awesome, i can’t stop listening to it, i turned off my tv earlier than usual to listen to this.
I’m gonna put in my memory playlist.
    Keep on rocking 🎸🎸🎸

  7. De todo el mundo, y digo de todo el mundo, es lo mejor, yo la encontré a través de una app llamada “radio garden” y no quiero otra estación, hay alguna en Australia que parece que quiere aproximarse, pero no lo logra. Un saludo.

    1. Gracias por las amables palabras Miguel.

For those of you who don’t read Spanish – his comment (translated by Google) is:
“From all over the world, and I mean from all over the world, it’s the best, I found it through an app called “radio garden” and I don’t want another station, there is one in Australia that seems to want to get closer, but can’t. All the best.”

  8. WOW, This station supports my argument that to have only your music copied to your device I’d never remember all the great stuff played here. I would never think of to add to my play list! So you guys are my personal play source.

    Thanks

  9. J’ai découvert votre station par hasard et je l’adore! Merci à toute l’équipe pour la recherche de titres qu’on entend plus ou pas souvent… Choice Classic YOU Rock!!!

  10. Glad I found this “station”…really enjoying the variety of music and the lack of commercials. Thanks for offering this great service!

  11. Anyone looking for endless variety in this type of music should find their home here. I’ve been listening for months and I’ve never heard the same song twice, and so much I’ve never heard. Kind of afraid to turn it off. What will I be missing? Unbelievable. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

  12. Thanks for playing the new Greg Rolie song last night. I thought it was very cool. It got me diving into his discography and I discovered the Abraxas Pool album. I have a copy of this rather rare disc on the way. Thanks for shining the light on this fine artist’s new work.

    1. Hi Mike … yes, the stream is available on the Choice Classic Rock website. Just click the Listen button on the menu. It is no longer available on the main page due to a variety of technical reasons! Thanks for searching us out on MyTuner and for being a faithful listener!

  13. Hey there, I absolutely LOVE your music stream! I listen to it all day, every day at work! Is there any chance of you uncovering some Shooting Star songs, like Last Chance, Flesh and Blood, You Got What I Need, or even something else? Thanks for looking into this for me! Keep on rockin’!

  14. I’m still quite surprised and delighted every time I turn on your station. Is there any technical reason that the end of songs gets cut off? Thanks again.

    1. Thanks Scott … some songs are faded early to meet space requirements within an hour of music. It shouldn’t happen very often, but I will monitor the station for a bit and see if there is an issue. Thanks again for your input!

  15. Wow. All I can say is keep it up.
Music suggestion? Anything off of Roy Harper’s “Stormcock” will likely blow your listeners minds. Thanks.

  16. I knew there had to be something like this online! But this is better than I expected; thanks! Nothing like this in the ATL

  17. Hello
really enjoy listening to your radio.
I am 64 year old male, so often recognize the artist but often not the tune, so very interesting and great to listen.

  19. The Tubes – “Don’t Touch Me There”
    Flashback to past BLB parties!
Lovin’ it all. Great stuff to work by
    Thanks Hob!

  20. This station is wonderful, the way rock radio should be and never will be again. Thank God you are giving us the good stuff! Long version of No Time by the Guess Who, love it!!

    1. Thanks for the comment George. I actually live in the home town of the Guess Who (Winnipeg, Canada) – so they are near and dear to my heart!

  21. You are doing $_DEITY’s own work. The local classic rock station has calcified into a maybe 400 song playlist, two songs separated by five minutes of commercials. You have many of my unplayed-on-the-radio favorites, and new-to-my-ears songs. Not sure how big your library budget is, or if these classify as classic rock, but perhaps your listeners might enjoy Thundermug (“Africa”)? Shango (“Day After Day”)? Elephant’s Memory (“Mongoose”)? Everything Is Everything (“Witchi-Tai-To”)?

    1. Thanks for listening and taking the time to submit your comment murph! I will check out your suggestions. I very much appreciate input from listeners!!

  22. I’m so glad I found this! I was worn out on the local radio stations playing the same cuts over and over everyday. It seems that they all have to play Bohemian Rhapsody, Money, and Like You Do every six hours. The variety I’m hearing from you is wonderful! I would enjoy a bit more of southern rock and Tom Petty (RIP), but I’m loving what I’m hearing, Thanks!

Bonny, Dellany and friends, Boz Scaggs, Traffic, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Outlaws, Seger, LRB, The Band, Little Feet

  23. Just the station that I’ve wanted to listen for: past favorite tracks and current new releases by classic rockers. I hope to hear the latest from Magpie Salute, Ten Years After and Toto

    Tunja, Columbia, South America

    1. Hey Miguel! Thanks for tuning in! I’m glad you like the playlist. New tracks from Ten Years After and Toto are on the way. I will look into Magpie Salute. Take care!

    2. First time that I hear “Distant Places of the Heart” by Bruce & Trower. Wow, what a killer song! Thanks ChoiceCR
