Steve Forbert – The Magic Tree … The singer/songwriter’s latest album was supposed to be an album of acoustic demos that would accompany the release of his autobiography Big City Cat: My Life In Folk-Rock, but instead, he hired some musicians and overdubbed new tracks onto the demos, resulting in a delightfully cohesive addition to his catalogue. Paul Weller – True Meanings … The latest album from The Modfather features a surprisingly tender collection of songs from someone who is often thought of as brusque. The album features guest musicians such as Rod Argent (of The Zombies), Noel Gallagher (of Oasis) as well as English folk musicians Martin Carthy and Danny Thompson.
