Steve Forbert – The Magic Tree … The singer/songwriter’s latest album was supposed to be an album of acoustic demos that would accompany the release of his autobiography Big City Cat: My Life In Folk-Rock, but instead, he hired some musicians and overdubbed new tracks onto the demos, resulting in a delightfully cohesive addition to his catalogue. Listen for the song Diamond Sky. Read the review here.
Slash – Living The Dream … This album teams the Guns n’ Roses guitar player with vocalist Myles Kennedy and the band The Conspirators. Many of the tracks sound like something straight from a GNR session. Listen for the track My Antidote. Read the review here.
Richard Thompson – 13 Rivers … The singer-songwriter who once helmed the band Fairport Convention returns with an album of sarcasm, satire and sentiment. Listen for the tracks The Storm Won’t Come and You Can’t Reach Me. Read the review here.

Paul Weller – True Meanings … The latest album from The Modfather features a surprisingly tender collection of songs from someone who is often thought of as brusque. The album features guest musicians such as Rod Argent (of The Zombies), Noel Gallagher (of Oasis) as well as English folk musicians Martin Carthy and Danny Thompson. Listen for the album’s opening track The Soul Searcher. Read the review here.
Ann Wilson – Immortal … The vocalist for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band Heart returns with another album of covers – celebrating the Immortal status of artists who have inspired her career. The album is produced by legendary Heart producer Mike Flicker. Listen for the song Baker Street – originally done by Gerry Rafferty. Read the review here.
Yes – Live At the Apollo … Featuring Yes members Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin and Rick Wakeman – the album finds this incarnation of the band celebrating 50 years of existence with a tight, polished performance that was captured in early 2017 at Manchester, England’s Apollo Theatre.
