Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 08/14/2023

Section 1: Who We Are

Our website address is www.choiceclassicrock.com . Privacy information is controlled by the site owner and administrator. We also have an iOS and Android app that users can download for free.

Section 2: What Personal Data We Collect And Why We Collect It

When connecting to our radio stream, your IP address will be sent to our radio service provider in order for us to track listening trends and provide licensing bodies with royalty reports. Once our service provider receives your IP it is immediately anonymized, deleted and becomes untraceable. This data is never sold on or passed to other companies.

Radio Apps That You Download

The iOS App

The Choice Classic Rock iOS App does not collect any user data when installed or launched on your device.

The Android App

The Choice Classic Rock Android App does not collect any user data during use. In order to provide audio control during Phone App use, the App will monitor the ‘state’ of the phone App (Idle, in call, call ended) if applicable on your device. At no point will the App be able to listen in or derive phone numbers or data.

The Android App also requires access to local storage. This is to store its configuration for faster launch times.

Comments On Our Web Site

When visitors leave comments on our web site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser to help prevent spam.

You never have to leave you email address, but if you do an anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service’s privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture (if you have one – it is optional) is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Contact Forms On Our Web Site

To assist with getting your feedback and comments regarding this site, we use Contact Form 7 to collect and store your email address (if you provide it – this is not mandatory). You may opt out of the collection of your data by:

  1. contacting us and asking for your comments/information to be deleted

Embedded Content From Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. youtube, pinterest, wordpress.org, etc.).

Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged into that website.

Web Site Analytics

We use Google analytics to record information about the pages a user has seen, for example the URL of the page, time of day, device used, etc. The information that we collect anonymized and sent to Google Analytics for analysis. Google Analytics mainly uses first-party cookies to report on visitor interactions on this website. Users may disable cookies or delete any individual cookie. In addition, Google Analytics supports an optional browser add-on that – once installed and enabled – disables measurement by Google Analytics for any site a user visits. Note that this add-on only disables Google Analytics measurement. Google Analytics also collects Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to provide and protect the security of the service, and to give website owners a sense of which country, state, or city in the world their users come from (also known as “IP geolocation”). See this page for Google Analytics security and usage of data: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245

Section 4: How Long We Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you.
