Gregg Allman – Southern Blood … This album was finished just prior to his tragic passing. Listen for the track Song For Adam – which was written by, and features Jackson Browne on vocals. Read the review here.

Jeff Beck – Live At the Hollywood Bowl … This album was recorded live as a celebration of Jeff Beck‘s 50 years of recorded guitar brilliance. Robert Plant – Carry Fire … The Led Zeppelin front man’s latest project continues to push forward and not just rest on his laurels as the greatest rock singer of all time. Leon Russell – On A Distant Shore … This album was recorded prior to his passing away in 2016. Although some of the tracks are hit and miss – it still serves as a fitting legacy for this musician who was so influential in the 1970’s. Listen for the tracks Black And Blue and Love This Way. Rusty Young – Waitin’ For the Sun … This is the first-ever solo album from the mainstay and leader of the country-rock band Poco. Listen for the track Hey There. Read the review here.

The Who – Tommy: Live At the Royal Albert Hall … This double CD set features the entirety of the rock opera Tommy on the first CD. The second CD captures live versions of some of The Who‘s best known songs. Listen for the tracks I Can See For Miles and Who Are You. Read the review here.

Ronnie Montrose, Ricky Phillips & Eric Singer – 10×10 … Before his untimely death in 2012, Ronnie Montrose started on a project of 10 songs with 10 different singers. After his passing, Ricky Phillips completed the project. The album features a host of classic rock luminaries – including Eric Martin (of Mr. Big), Edgar Winter, Rick Derringer, Sammy Hagar, Tommy Shaw (of Styx) – and many more! Chris Hillman – Bidin’ My Time … Chris Hillman was a member of The Byrds, The Flying Burrito Brothers and the Stephen Stills led band Manassas. On this project – he is joined by David Crosby and Roger McGuinn (of The Byrds), Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench of Tom Petty’s Heartbreakers, as well as the late departed Tom Petty who produced the album.
