New Angel, Gregg Rolie & More!

I have just added 10 new songs into high rotation in the playlist. Seven of the songs are from the following newly released classic rock albums:

Angel - Risen
Angel – Risen

Angel – Risen … Two original band members (singer Frank DiMino and guitarist Punky Meadows) of one of the 1970’s most misunderstood bands have released a new album of material that features 15 tracks of hard guitar rocking interspersed with steady keyboard magic. Sounds like they never left the 70’s. Listen for the tracks 1975 and I.O.U. Read the review here.

Gregg Rolie – Sonic Ranch … The two-time Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame inductee (and former member of Santana and Journey) has released his first album in 18 years, and it’s a keeper. Featured guests include drummer Michael Shrieve (Santana), bassist Alphonso Johnson and guitar players Steve Lukather (Toto) and Neal Schon (Journey and Santana). Listen for the tracks Lift Me Up and Look Into the Future. Read the review here.

Freddie Mercury – Never Boring … This release bundles all of his solo recordings and puts them in one place. The album is available as a single CD package or as a triple CD plus DVD package. Not Queen – but definitely Freddie. Listen for the songs Love Me Like There’s No Tomorrow and Love Kills (which was recently released on a new YouTube video). Read the review here.

Simple Minds – Live In the City of Angels … Rock veterans Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill are in top form on this live double-album release. The recording contains great live renditions of all their best known work in front of a very appreciative crowd. Listen for the track Alive And Kicking. Read the review here.

New Singles

The other 3 songs added into high rotation are from forthcoming albums. Tune in and listen for the following tracks:

Ringo Starr – Grow Old With Me … the second single from the former Beatles‘ upcoming album What’s My Name (which is due for release on October 25th, 2019) finds him doing a cover of a John Lennon song – with help from Paul McCartney on vocals and bass.

The Who – All This Music Must Fade … this is the second single from the iconic band’s new album, WHO – which is due for release on November 22nd, 2019.

The Bill Ward Band – Arrows … the former Black Sabbath drummer has released a new single to mark the 2nd anniversary of the 2017 mass shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada.
